The minister, Pate, stated that "good things are happening in Nigeria's healthcare system" and that the country is witnessing a transformation in its healthcare sector. 

While some people have expressed surprise and even pride at the notion that foreigners are seeking medical care in Nigeria, others have questioned the validity of the minister's claim.
