US health websites, datasets taken down as agencies comply with Trump executive orders
Some of the removed datasets relate to HIV/AIDS in the US and global health efforts, including:
CDC AtlasPlus: an interactive database with 15 years of surveillance data for HIV, viral hepatitis, STD, and TB
CDC HIV surveillance reports: dating back to the beginning of the epidemic
PEPFAR Data Dashboards: comprehensive online data portal of program budgets and expenditures by country and service category
Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) databases: data downloads from the DHS, with population, health, HIV, and nutrition data from over 90 countries
The removal of these datasets has raised concerns about the impact on research, policy-making, and public health. The changes are reportedly in accordance with President Trump's January 20 executive orders.
