Mercy Chiwo
Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, has made shocking allegations against her ex-manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, accusing him of exploitation and sponsoring rumors about her son's paternity.

In a tearful video shared on her Instagram page, Mercy revealed that Ezekiel had been making her life a living hell, seizing her royalties for two years and creating a toxic environment that forced her to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt.

According to Mercy, Ezekiel had been spreading false rumors that her son was fathered by fellow singer, Nathaniel Bassey, which she described as "ridiculous" and "painful".

"I have been quiet for too long, but I can no longer keep silent," Mercy said in the video. "Ezekiel has been exploiting me, taking my royalties and making my life miserable. He has been spreading false rumors about my son's paternity, which is not only painful but also damaging to my reputation."

Mercy also alleged that Ezekiel had been threatening her and her family, forcing her to seek protection from the authorities.

"I have reported him to the police and I am seeking justice," she said. "I will not be intimidated or bullied by anyone. I am a strong woman and I will fight for my rights."

Ezekiel has denied the allegations, describing them as "false" and "malicious". However, Mercy's lawyer has stated that Ezekiel's actions are a clear case of contract fraud and that they will be taking legal action against him.

"This is a classic case of exploitation and abuse of power," the lawyer said. "Ezekiel has been taking advantage of Mercy's trust and good nature, and we will not let him get away with it. We will be seeking damages and compensation for the harm he has caused her."

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many of Mercy's fans and colleagues coming out to support her. Nathaniel Bassey, who was falsely accused of being the father of Mercy's son, has also spoken out, describing the rumors as " wicked" and "untrue".

"I am shocked and saddened by the rumors that have been circulating about Mercy's son," he said. "I can categorically deny that I am the father of her child. I am a married man and I would never engage in such behavior. I stand with Mercy and I support her in her quest for justice."

The incident has highlighted the need for stronger regulations and protections for artists in the Nigerian music industry. Many have called for greater accountability and transparency in the industry, and for those who exploit and abuse artists to be held accountable.

As the drama unfolds, Mercy has assured her fans that she will continue to make music and inspire her audience, despite the challenges she is facing.

"I will not be silenced or defeated," she said. "I will continue to sing and praise God, and I will not let anyone bring me down."
