Trump’s Gaza plan shocks the world but finds support in Israel

Donald Trump's proposal for the Gaza Strip has indeed sent shockwaves around the world. The plan, revealed on February 4, 2025, during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, involves redeveloping the Gaza Strip into a Middle Eastern Riviera, with the United States taking control of the area. 

The plan also calls for the temporary relocation of a significant portion of the Palestinian population in Gaza to Egypt, Jordan, and other countries. This aspect of the proposal has been met with widespread criticism, with many viewing it as an attempt to drive Palestinians from their homeland. 

Despite the international backlash, Trump's plan has found support in Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu acknowledged that the idea might seem unorthodox, but suggested that it's worth considering. Other Israeli leaders, including Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid, have also expressed support for the proposal, with some caveats.
