Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle returns

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is set to return to Nigeria in the new week, according to officials. His return is aimed at briefing his employers on the progress made so far towards the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March. Chelle has been working quietly with his backroom staff, monitoring the performances of Nigerian players across the world.

The coach is also planning to meet with several Super Eagles stars overseas, including skipper William Ekong. Chelle was present at the 2025 AFCON draw, where Nigeria was pitched against Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group C.

It's worth noting that Chelle has imposed an interview ban on himself until after the World Cup qualifiers in March, focusing solely on winning those crucial matches.
