John Mousinho has pinpointed a return for his injured attacking options after the international break.

The Pompey boss is anticipating being boosted by top scorer Callum Lang’s presence back in the equation for the trip to QPR on October 19.

And it’s the same story for Kusini Yengi, with the Blues head coach confirming the Aussie’s on course to be in contention for the clash with the Londoners.

But Mousinho explained there is still no clarity over a timescale for Conor Shaughnessy’s return, after a recurrence of his calf injury.

Lang has been sidelined since the last-gasp defeat at Burnley nearly two weeks ago, after he was forced off with a groin issue in the second half of the 2-1 reverse.

That was after the 26-year-old bagged his third goal of a strong start to the campaign, following his January arrival from Wigan.

Yengi has been out for approaching three weeks, after the Aussie hitman felt a groin issue in the warm-up ahead of the home meeting with West Brom.

That’s after the 25-year-old also missed the start of the season with a similar problem with his other groin, ahead of the campaign opener at Leeds.

Yengi will likely miss international duty with Australia, with the hope he can be back after the two-week break.

Mousinho said: ‘Callum and Kas won’t be ready for the weekend. Callum will hopefully be back for the QPR game and the same for Kusini.’

The Pompey boss should have some clarity over how long Shaughnessy faces out by the weekend meeting with Oxford.

The central defender has been for a scan after pulling up in the warm-up against Sheffield United last weekend, with Shaughnessy due to return after five weeks out.

Mousinho added: ‘We are awaiting the scan results (with Shaughnessy) so I’ll speak to the medical team to find out. It hasn’t been the focus because we’ve had matchday travel and (match) preparations.’

Jacob Farrell (knee) is sidelined with Colby Bishop recovering from heart surgery.
