My visit to Obasanjo was not about politics – Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has clarified that his recent visit to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo was purely a courtesy call and not related to politics. This visit sparked speculation about Atiku's potential 2027 presidential ambitions, but he has dismissed these claims, stating, "I'm not here to talk about 2027 or politics". 

Atiku arrived at Obasanjo's Abeokuta residence, accompanied by notable figures like Senator Liyel Imoke, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, and Senator Abdul Ningi ¹. The meeting lasted about two hours, but its details remain private.

It's worth noting that Atiku has been quite active in the political sphere, having warned against the misappropriation of the $1.07 billion health allocation in the 2025 budget. However, he maintains that his visit to Obasanjo was not politically motivated.
