Mutfwang sacks 5 commissioners
According to a statement released by the Governor's office, the decision to sack the commissioners was taken after a thorough review of their performance, which was deemed to be below expectations. The statement noted that the Governor is committed to ensuring that his administration delivers on its promises to the people of Plateau State, and that underperforming officials will not be tolerated.
The sacked commissioners have been replaced by new appointees, who are expected to bring fresh ideas and energy to their respective ministries. The new commissioners are Joy Ramnap, Sunday Alex, Sylvanus Dongtoe, Nicolas Bamnong, and Cornelius Doeyok, who will take over the portfolios of Budget and Economic Planning, Youth and Sports, Tourism and Hospitality, Science and Technology, and Commerce and Industry, respectively.
This is not the first time that some of the sacked commissioners have faced disciplinary action. Chrysanthus Dawam and Jamila Tukur were previously suspended for three months last year for undisclosed reasons, but were later reinstated. Their removal from office is seen as a sign that the Governor is serious about holding his officials accountable for their performance.
The Governor's decision to sack the commissioners has been welcomed by many in the state, who see it as a sign of his commitment to good governance and accountability. "This is a bold move by the Governor, and it shows that he is serious about delivering on his promises," said a resident of Jos, the state capital. "We expect the new commissioners to perform better and help the Governor achieve his vision for the state."
The Governor's office has assured the public that the changes will not disrupt the normal functioning of government, and that the new commissioners will hit the ground running to ensure that the state's development agenda is not delayed. As the new commissioners settle into their roles, they will be expected to work closely with the Governor and other officials to drive progress and improve the lives of the people of Plateau State.
