The Lagos State Government has shut down Smiley Kids Montessori School in Sangotedo, Lagos, following the mysterious death of a 2-year-old pupil, Rapheala Ogbodo.

The government's decision to close the school was announced on Wednesday, after a meeting with the school's management and the parents of the deceased child.

According to reports, Rapheala died on Tuesday, while in the care of the school. The school's management claimed that the toddler drowned in the school's swimming pool, but the mother of the deceased, Mrs. Ogbodo, alleged that her daughter was electrocuted and the school tried to cover it up by putting her body in the pool.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice and demanding that the school be held accountable for the toddler's death.

The Lagos State Government has begun an investigation into the incident, with the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Mrs. Titilayo Adeniyi-Vivour, stating that a task force has been set up to look into the matter.

"We are deeply saddened by the death of Rapheala Ogbodo, and we are committed to getting to the bottom of this incident," Mrs. Adeniyi-Vivour said. "We urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist us in our investigation."

The government has also assured the public that it will take all necessary steps to ensure that those responsible for the toddler's death are brought to justice.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and welfare of children in schools, and the need for schools to take adequate measures to prevent such incidents from occurring.

The Lagos State Government has promised to take steps to ensure that all schools in the state are safe and secure, and that children are protected from harm.
