Kia's access to the Tesla Supercharger Network has been delayed, and it's not going to happen as soon as we thought. Initially, they were supposed to get access on January 15, but now it's been pushed back to spring 2025. The reason for the delay is due to some technical issues that need to be worked out. Kia's head of PR, James Bell, confirmed that there's been a delay, but they're working to confirm a new availability date.

It's worth noting that Kia had previously announced that their EV6 and EV9 owners would be able to use Tesla's Supercharger stations, and they even updated their press release to reflect the new timeline, saying that access to DC fast charging stations is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.

The delay might also affect other brands, like Hyundai and Genesis, which share a platform with Kia for their electric vehicles. However, it's not clear yet if they'll be impacted by the same delay.

Kia is still planning to provide free adapters to customers who purchase their EVs after a certain date, so that's a positive note. But for now, it seems like we'll have to wait a bit longer for Kia owners to be able to charge their cars at Tesla's Supercharger stations.
