JAMB to enforce 16-year age limit as 201,867 register for UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will enforce the 16-year age limit for admission into universities, starting with the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) ยน. This means that any candidate below 16 years by September 2025 will not be considered for admission.

However, there's a provision for exceptionally gifted candidates below 16 years. They can register for the UTME if they score at least 280 marks and perform well in their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and Post-UTME. 

As of now, 201,867 candidates have registered for the 2025 UTME, which commenced on February 3 and will end on March 8, 2025 .
