Job Summary:
The IT Operations Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of WFP's IT systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT equipment, networks, and systems. This position will work closely with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of WFP's IT services, supporting the organization's mission to fight hunger and improve food security worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to WFP staff on IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
2. IT Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of IT equipment, including computers, printers, and other peripherals.
3. Network Administration: Assist in the administration of WFP's network infrastructure, including configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network devices.
4. System Administration: Support the administration of WFP's IT systems, including user account management, software updates, and system backups.
5. IT Service Management: Assist in the implementation of IT service management best practices, including incident management, problem management, and change management.
6. Communication: Provide timely and effective communication to WFP staff on IT-related matters, including system downtime, maintenance, and outages.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of WFP's IT services, sharing knowledge and expertise to resolve complex technical issues.
Requirements:
1. Education: Completion of secondary school education, with a focus on IT or a related field.
2. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in IT operations, technical support, or a related field.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT service management, network administration, system administration, and technical support.
4. Certifications: CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification is an asset.
5. Language: Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
