TEHRAN – Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash has said the country imported more than 10 airplanes over the past two months, noting that there is no problem in the way of importing aircraft for the Islamic Republic.
Bazrpash made the remarks on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of 26 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between Iran Airports Company (IAC) and domestic investment companies to cooperate in airport development projects across the country.
“Currently, the path is open for the imports of planes to the country and the government has provided the necessary foreign currency for the interested companies with the coordination of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI). Also, arrangements have been made with the Supreme National Security Council for the clearance of parts and aircraft in the shortest possible time,” the minister said.
The official also noted that the country’s private maritime companies are also importing several new aircrafts that will enter the country in the next Iranian calendar year (begins in late March 2025).
