ICAN members can now get easier certification to practice as accountants in Canada
Thanks to reciprocal agreements between ICAN and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA Canada), Nigerian accountants can leverage their existing ICAN certification to streamline the process of obtaining CPA certification in Canada.
This move is expected to open up new career opportunities for ICAN members seeking to practice in Canada, while also enhancing the global recognition of Nigerian accounting professionals.
"We are thrilled to offer our members this opportunity to expand their professional horizons," said an ICAN spokesperson. "Our agreement with CPA Canada is a testament to the quality and relevance of our certification programs."
To take advantage of this opportunity, ICAN members will still need to meet CPA Canada's certification requirements, which may involve additional exams, coursework, or experience. However, having an ICAN certification will provide a solid foundation for pursuing CPA certification in Canada.
This development is seen as a significant boost to Nigeria's accounting profession, which has been working to enhance its global reputation and competitiveness.
"The accounting profession is increasingly global, and this agreement will help our members to compete more effectively in the international market," said the ICAN spokesperson.
As the demand for skilled accounting professionals continues to grow globally, this development is expected to have a positive impact on the careers of ICAN members and the Nigerian accounting profession as a whole.
