The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has expressed concerns that many state governors in Nigeria permanently reside in Abuja, the capital city, rather than in their respective states. This has led to accusations of absentee governance and neglect of local responsibilities.

According to the NLC, this trend is contributing to the country's economic and social challenges. The organization argues that governors should be based in their states, where they can better understand and address local issues.

It's worth noting that Nigeria has 36 states, each with its own governor

The governors are responsible for overseeing the administration of their respective states, but it appears that many are not fulfilling this responsibility.

The NLC's concerns highlight the need for greater accountability and transparency in governance at the state level in Nigeria.
