FG unveils emergency hotline to tackle kidnapping

The Federal Government has activated the toll-free 112 emergency number for Nigerians to report kidnappings and other security threats.

The initiative is part of efforts to tackle the growing menace of ransom-driven abductions.

The National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Major General Adamu Laka, disclosed this during a press briefing on the activities of the Multi-Agency Anti-Kidnap Fusion Cell under the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja on Thursday

Key Features of the Hotline

Dedicated Number: The hotline has a dedicated number, which will be made available to the public soon.
24/7 Operations: The hotline will be operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure prompt response to distress calls.
Trained Responders: The hotline will be manned by trained responders who will provide emotional support, gather critical information, and dispatch security agencies to respond to kidnapping cases.
