FG Should Monitor NELFUND Loan Disbursement To School says NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is calling on the Federal Government to closely monitor the disbursement of loans by the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to tertiary institutions on behalf of students. This is to ensure that the funds are being utilized for their intended purpose.

NANS wants to prevent any potential mismanagement or diversion of the loan funds, which could negatively impact students who rely on this financial support. The association's senate president, Babatunde, emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the loan disbursement process.

This development comes after NELFUND reportedly disbursed N12 billion in student loans to beneficiaries. NANS has been actively advocating for the interests of Nigerian students, including monitoring the disbursement of educational funds and loans.
