Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja are bracing themselves for a two-week power outage, scheduled to begin on January 6 and last until January 21, 2025. The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) announced this disruption, citing the relocation of the 33KV DC Airport Feeder and 132KV Kukwaba-Apo Transmission Line Towers along the Outer Southern Expressway as the reason.

The affected areas include:

- Airport Road and Surroundings: Areas around the airport, including Kapwa, NNPC, and Games Village, will be affected.
- National Stadium and Nearby Areas: The Eye Clinic, Indoor Complex, Christ Embassy Church, and American International School are among the locations that will experience power outages.
- Other Affected Areas: Parts of Apo, Gudu, Gbazango, Kubwa, Bwari, Jahi, Jabi, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Keffi, and other areas in Abuja will also be impacted.

The AEDC has apologized for the inconvenience this will cause and has expressed appreciation for residents' understanding.
