In a bid to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities for its citizens, the Benue State Government has inaugurated four new factories in the state. The factories, which were established under the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) Limited, are expected to give the state's economy a significant boost and increase its internally generated revenue (IGR).

The inauguration ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, was attended by Governor Hyacinth Alia, who expressed his commitment to industrializing the state and creating employment opportunities for its youth. The governor stated that the establishment of the factories is a major step towards making the state self-reliant and driving development to ensure the prosperity of Benue State.

The four factories inaugurated include a polythene and nylon bag factory, a nails factory, and the expansion of bread and water production facilities. According to the commissioner for trade and industry, Hon. Alumo Orpin, these projects aim to create employment opportunities and enhance IGR, thereby accelerating development in the state.

The managing director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, noted that the commissioned projects have already created over 400 jobs since the inception of Governor Alia's administration. This is a significant achievement, considering the high rate of unemployment in the state.

The inauguration of the factories is a welcome development for the people of Benue State, who have been facing economic challenges in recent years. The state has been struggling to pay salaries and provide basic amenities to its citizens, and the establishment of the factories is expected to help address these challenges.

Governor Alia has promised to continue to support the growth of industries in the state, and to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. He has also called on investors to take advantage of the state's rich natural resources and favorable business climate to establish their businesses in the state.

The inauguration of the factories is a major milestone in the state's efforts to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on federal allocations. It is also a testament to the governor's commitment to creating jobs and improving the living standards of the people of Benue State.
