Benue APC stakeholders have rejected calls for the removal of Senator George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). This decision comes after Governor Hyacinth Alia's loyalists staged a protest demanding Akume's sack, citing concerns about his performance and representation of Benue State's interests.

The stakeholders, including the Alliance for Truth and Justice (ATJ) and the Tiv Youth Council, have condemned the governor's actions, stating that they are an attack on Akume's person and a betrayal of Benue's unity. They argue that Akume's position as SGF is beneficial to the state and that his removal would not necessarily lead to another Benue indigene taking his place.

Instead of calling for Akume's removal, the stakeholders are urging Governor Alia to focus on addressing the state's developmental challenges and promoting unity among the people. They believe that the governor's actions are misguided and driven by personal interests rather than the welfare of the state.
